Description

This training focuses on the skill of supervisory counseling as a method to help improve poor work performance. The counseling approach is distinct from discipline.  This approach is the next step a supervisor would take with an employee if performance coaching does not work. During this training, participants will concentrate on on re-directing an employee’s performance using counseling skills. (This is the second in a series of trainings*.)

This is the second in a series of trainings about managing employee performance.
Learning Objectives:

1.Review reasons why poor performance isn’t addressed.
2.Define impacts of continued poor performance.
3.Discuss importance of identifying previous corrective measures/results.
4.Define counseling.
5.Analyze deficiency/cause and define problem.
6.Examine and apply an approach to counseling.
