VSO leaders would also get training on how to train spokespeople and provide tools for message delivery to staff, board, volunteers and other members of the organization.

Learning Objectives:

Training the trainers of advocacy team.

  1. Demonstrate and practice advocacy.
  2. Provide a training outline for implementation.

Training the messenger (how to train and how to do) including:

o   Board

o   Staff

o   Victims

o   Interested Stakeholders

o   Partners

o   Standards of practice (control the message)

  • Practice/demonstrate/apply the message to scenarios.  (Taped Role Play)
  •    Messaging results/reporting/adjusting strategy. – Talking points/tools 

Homework:  Share final strategy.   Trainers  recommend the organizations post their strategy and any working documents to the portal to share with other VSO organizations.
